Bristol City v Portsmouth

Portsmouth are without Liam Lawrence, while Hayden Mullins remains a doubt for the trip to Ashton Gate.

Both players have calf problems, with Lawrence likely to be sidelined for at least another fortnight.

MATCH PREVIEW

Portsmouth are the Championship's form side and continued their remarkable recent run with Saturday's 1-0 win against struggling Sheffield United. It was Pompey's sixth consecutive victory and clean sheet.

Steve Cotterill's side have now completed almost 10 hours of Championship football without letting in a goal. That is the longest run in the division this season without conceding, surpassing the 551 minutes Swansea managed earlier in the campaign.

Another triumph on Tuesday would see Portsmouth equal their club record of seven successive wins, which they last achieved during the 2002/03 season, when they won promotion to the top flight. Another clean sheet would set a post-war club record, and take them a step closer to equalling Pompey's all-time record of eight shut-outs, which they last achieved in 1922.

They face a Bristol City side that have also been in great form. The Robins' 4-1 thrashing of Coventry at the weekend was their third win in a row, and Nicky Maynard's opener was the fit-again striker's third goal in as many appearances.
