Carey is Back!!

BBC teletext is widely reporting that Louis Carey has rejoined Bristol City on a free transfer subject to termination of his Coventry contract.

"He has completed a medical but has a couple of contractual issues at the Coventry end to be sorted," Robins boss Brian Tinnion told BBC Radio Bristol.

This rules out paying Peterborough any sort of fee for Craig Ireland who is due to return to London Road after the game at Hull City.

The signing of Richard Duffy on loan from Portsmouth seemed to signify that Louis was free to leave and would not be part of new manager Micky Adams plans. The release was announced on Coventry Citys Official site earlier today.

Have City begun a new loan system where players are "sold" to other clubs only to be brought back to Ashton Gate a few months later? Will Matty Hill be returning in the summer?

According to the Official City SMS texting service "A last minute hitch halted a deal today". Not sure if he will sign in time to play tomorrow night, or indeed whether he'd get into the team, but it appears that it is all but a done deal.
