BRISTOL City's manager Gary Johnson has moved to dismiss speculation that his move for Rangers defender Andy Webster is a risky one and believes he will be a great aquisition for the club.

Webster signed on a five month loan deal yesterday afternoon and Johnson described the player as a 'real coup' as the Scotland defender chose the Championship contenders ahead of several Premiership clubs who were also injured.

The main concern around the former Wigan and Hearts man has been his injury record over the last twelve months having spent a year on the sidelines. The player himself said he 'feels fit' and Gary Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post: "We're delighted to have Andy here."

"Even though injuries have restricted his appearences in the last couple of years there's no doubting his quality."

Webster played for the reserves last night in a defeat to Forest Green and could make his debut at the Ricoh Arena against Coventry on Saturday.
