Johnson defends City tactics

GARY Johnson has today refuted claims that he has become more cautious with his team set up because of last season's successes.

Earlier this month City drew 0-0 two games in a row and have recently been criticised for not displaying the same free flowing football as they did last campaign when they finished third.

Many of City's games last season ended 1-0 and the number of chances the club created last campaign compaired to this one suggests that City have taken a more negative approach, though Gary Johnson rubbished claims he had become more cautious, and also that teams had 'worked City out'. He told the Bristol Evening Post,

"I believe this is the best way for us to play," he said,

"You have to have belief in your players and the way you're trying to play."

Many questioned Johnson's decision to start with just Dele Adebola upfront in a large percentage of home games this season, where City have struggled the most but Johnson feels that a 4-5-1 system come 4-3-3 is suited to the way his team plays,

"It's easy for people sat at home to pick the team, but they should trust me. See where we are at the end of the season, and then let them judge us."
