He told BBC Radio Bristol: "My aim is to be the top scorer as I have been the last two seasons. I think its important to set yourself a target."

Brett Pitman is the Robins' current leading scorer with 10 goals.

Maynard added: "I realise it's going to be very difficult, but I'm up for it.

"Fair play to Brett, he took his goal brilliantly (against Watford) so I know it's going to be a real challenge."

It was the striker's third appearance of the season having made his first team return as a substitute

in the 2-0 defeat at home to Leeds

on 12 February.

"It was a bad pitch so I was made up to get through 75 minutes," added Maynard.

"In terms of my knee I felt fine, I was a bit tired at the end but that's to be expected.

"To score was a bit of an emotional moment personally. But the most important thing is the three points."
