The 22-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable change in fortunes this season, having previously struggled to make the City squad on a regular basis.
After receiving a call-up from Wales boss Gary Speed for the match against the Republic of Ireland, Nyatanga is now raring to go for both club and country - especially if he gets the chance to play against Fabio Capello's side.
"This is the game every Welshman wants to play in. Every Welshman wants to be in the squad to play England and I'm no different," he told the Bristol Evening Post.
"Obviously, any game you play for your country is a big one, but this is extra special for all kinds of reasons.
"I know the only way to guarantee being involved is to continue playing well for Bristol City and staying in the team. I spoke to Gary Speed when I teamed up with the squad the other month and I know what I have to do."
