CAPTAIN Louis Carey and forward Steve Brooker will continue their push for a return to fitness by taking part in a reserve game this afternoon.

Carey is expected to start after recovering from toe and knee injuries while Brooker is pencilled in to play 45 minutes as the City reserves take on Sailsbury City.

Despite an absence through injury, Brooker still remains the club's joint top scorer on three while Carey is hoping to come through the test having been out for around a month.

Gary Johnson said,

"Louis will play in the reserve game and will, hopefully, be available for the weekend. His return is a big boost for us and a big boost for him personally.

"It's been a long time for Louis and he's itching to get back out there and play."

Chris Weale, Frankie Artus, Ivan Sproule, John Akinde, Nicky Maynard and Lee Trundle are also expected to be involved.
