BRISTOL City will be able to call on the services of James Wilson should they require after the defender returned to the club following the completion of his loan spell.

Wilson has spent the last three months with Brentford in League Two but City were keen for him to rejoin his parent club after some good performances in West London.
City boss Johnson told the official website,

"He's proved to himself and to us that he's going to be a very good player in the future."

After playing 16 games for the Bees and helping them to ninth in the division, Wilson told the media he was pleased to be given the opportunity to play,

"I really enjoyed the loan spell and it's given me lots of experience. I feel like I've improved in every department."

City manager Gary Johnson said he would 'review' the players position after his loan spell and although many thought Wilson would be granted an extended deal, the 19-year-old looks set for some first team action as the manager told the official website that a deal looks unlikely,

"There's always interest to keep a player when de does well.

"But they have to remember that he's our Championship player and we need to see where we go when we get to that stage."
