HAVING had two weeks since their last game it would be normal to expect that much has been going on at any football club around this time of year, but Cardiff City have been talked about more frequently than several other Championship clubs since they drew with Sheffield United two weeks ago. Here are a few fascinating facts about Cardiff City...

- The name Cardiff means "fort on the Taff".

- Cardiff was once one of the richest cities in the world.

- The City itself is said to have more parks, recreation and open spaces per head of population than any other city in the UK.

- The Bluebirds remain the only non-English team to win the FA Cup. Despite their triumphs in reaching the final last season, they went one step better in 1927 by winning the tournament.

- City were formed in 1899 as Riverside FC and have played at Ninian Park since 1909.

- The club's highest attendence was recorded in 1953 when Arsenal visited the Welsh side in April. A massive 57,893 people attended the game.

- Cardiff is twinned with Baltimore, Maryland.
