Adebola talks up play-off run

BRISTOL City striker Dele Adebola believes that his side's unbeaten start to the season has proved many people wrong.

City's fantastic run to the play-off last season was compounded in heartbreaking Wembley defeat by Hull City in May and many people felt that doing so well in their first season in the Championship might set them up for a fall.

Many bookies predicted that City would struggle to sustain last season's excellent form but with four games gone, City are one of only a few unbeaten sides and have picked up two valuable away wins against Coventry and Blackpool.

Striker Dele Adebola scored in the club's 3-0 win at the Ricoh Arena two weeks ago and also netted as City got a good home point against one of the favourites for the title QPR last Saturday. The forward believes that City are demonstrating that last season was no fluke. He told the Bristol Evening Post: "There's definately no play-off hangover here."

A return of eight points from four games has City placed in fourth position and Adebola believes that City will be near the top when it comes to May. He said: "People were saying we would find it harder in our second season and losing the play-offs would affect us but that simply isn't the case"
