THERE is no doubt that John Akinde is a player with ambition.

The City new boy spoke yesterday about his ambition to break through into the City side as soon as he is selected by Gary Johnson. Today the striker has stated his 'dream' of firing his new club into the Premiership.

With Ebbsfleet, Akinde had a 1 in 3 goals to game record and with his new club the South African born striker is hoping he can equal that. Akinde once more brushed off fears about the difference in class between the Blue Square Premier and the Championship insisting that he is keen to stay with the club for a long period of time and enjoy much success with them.

He told the Bristol Evening Post: "Playing in the Premiership is my ultimate dream. That's where everyone wants to be and it's why I came into the game in the first place.

"I want to further myself and perform at the highest level and that means playing in the Premiership and I'd like to think I can with Bristol City."
