NO sooner had he agreed to join Bristol City, John Akinde was drafted into the reserve team which faces Southampton tonight.

The former Ebbsfleet player has had little pre season training and is not expected to complete the 90 minutes but will be part of the team to improve his fitness.

Akinde joined for an undisclosed fee this afternoon and he joins Lee Trundle and Steve Brooker as an attacking option.

Scott Murray is also expected to play as part of his return from injury.
