Crewe boss Steve Holland is under no illusions tonight that his team go into their game against Bristol City tonight as second favourites in a two horse race.

The League One club picked up their first win in the competition at the weekend and are looking to take the scalp of a Championship side in a bid to progress to the third round of the League Cup on home turf tonight.

Steve Holland has ensured the players and the media that Gresty Road will have an excellent atmosphere tonight - and add to the fact that two former players return to the club, the Alex boss understand that tonight will be a tough game. He told the Crewe official website: "Gary has got plenty of options. As well as Dele and Nicky he has Lee Trundle and Michael McIndoe so we know what we are up against.

"They are a good footballing side who like to pass the ball and ask questions of the opposition. A player like McIndoe picks up great positions down the left channel."

He did however say that his side were confident going into the match: "They (Bristol) are from the Championship and expected to win be we are at home and gave a good account of ourselves in pre-season against Preston so we can take confidence from that and give it our best shot."
