City have allowed the midfielder to join Southend United.
CITY have trimmed their squad ahead of the weekend's match against Blackpool with the transfer of Kevin Betsy away from the club.

Last night the winger penned a two year contract with the League One club, with a small undisclosed see agreed betwen the two clubs.

Gary Johnson told the official website: "Kevin was a great signing in League One for us and certainly helped win promotion that year. Unfortunately his first team chances were a little limited for him last season and at the age of 30 he needs to be playing games."

Johnson had said a couple of weeks ago that the midfielder was available should a club want to sign him and the manager believes a move to Southend is good for him,

"Southend came in for him and have done a deal, Kevin's a great lad and we wish him all the best for the future."
