He was only able to make two starts in his month in Essex.
Boothroyd told BBC Essex: "He's still not fit enough so we'll monitor that. He's the right character - a right fit for the club."
"I think at this stage of the season it would be nice to have somebody else in there that can offer that extra little bit of competition."
Ribeiro also spent time on loan at Stockport County earlier this season.
