Bradford City 4 CITY 1

Last updated : 18 September 2004 By Ciderjar
Wilkshire has a shot saved on 6 mins. Lita has a shot saved on 21 mins. Doherty booked for unsporting behaviour on 28 mins, he is now one away from a suspension. Schumacher scores for the Bantams.

1-0 (30 mins)

Neil Roberts scores on his debut on loan with a flicked header. City disputed the fact that Roberts was allowed to sign on loan as Bradford are still in Administration, but their 13 fit players are running rings around City at the moment.

2-0 (38 mins)

City nearly score as the Bradford keeper comes to the edge of his box and misses a cross but it falls to Tony Butler, just outside the box, who hits it true enough but into a crowd of players with the goal empty

HT 2-0

As the second half gets underway it crosses my mind that the rumours of City players drinking in their hotel until the early hours may be true. Lets hope they had a cup of Alkaseltzer at half time.

A Luke Wilkshire shot hits the side netting from an early corner. A cross-cum-shot from Scott Murray has to be tipped over by the keeper and from the resulting corner Tommy Doherty hits the bar and it goes over for a goal kick. Another Luke Wilkshire shot is turned behind for a corner. Leroy Lita goes through and fires straight at the keeper as City take charge.

Bradford break and Danny Coles mis-kicks over his own crossbar. From the resulting corner a looping header from Wetherall goes in beyond the dispairing dive of Phillips.

3-0 (61 mins)

Scott Murrays effort is saved on the line by the keeper. Then he has another effort just wide. Bradley Orr and Paul Heffernan come on for Wilkshire and Roberts on 67 mins. Yeovil go top of League 2 as they get their fourth against Oxford.

Murray is put through by Heffernan and scores!! But he is offside. Bradley Orr shoots high and wide following a knock down by Murray. 15 mins left. Yeovil now 6-1 up (Jevons hat-trick) Adebola hits the bar then has the rebound saved by Phillips, then he scores.

4-0 (80 mins)

Sounds a good game except that City are not taking their chances and Bradford are, all the good work of the last three matches is being undone at our bogey ground of Valley Parade. Neil Roberts is announced as man of the match, three and half minutes of torture left.

A Scott Murray screamer is a mere consolation.

4-1 (88 mins)

FT 4-1

Bob Taylor scores his first for Tamworth. Andy Cole gets another for Fulham but is later sent off for violent conduct. Credit to Yeovil for their 6-1 thrashing of Oxford. I'm off now for a nice cup of tea.
