Bristol City 2 Ipswich 0 .... some thoughts

So it was revenge, with the result never really in doubt after City went 2-0 up. Marvin Elliott's wonder strike and Bradley Orr's cooly taken penalty made the game safe. Ipswich were denied a comeback goal by Adrianno Basso's virtuoso display and some poor finishing. Bradley Orr, chastised by many for his mistake for the second goal and sending off at Portman Road, celebrated in a Stuart Pearce stylee when scoring the penalty that made this match safe for the home side.

For me the important thing after 20 games is that Bristol City sit joint third in the Championship. This was the 9th win of the season - as many games as were won in the entire ill-fated single season last spent at this level 1998/99. 16 points away from the magic 50 points many say is required for safety and 26 games to get them in. I think we'll be okay this time..... but should we start looking at the play-offs? at a second successive promotion?
