Bristol City V Bradford at Ashton Gate - Match Preview

Fielding nets number one jersey

New Bristol City goalkeeper Frank Fielding is expected to make his debut against Bradford.

The former Derby shot-stopper was brought in following the departure of last season's first-choice keeper Tom Heaton, and he is likely to get the nod ahead of fellow new signing Elliot Parish.

Manager Sean O'Driscoll could hand a first start to former Arsenal and Ipswich forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, while ex-Charlton man Scott Wagstaff will be hoping to make his debut in midfield.

Defender Aden Flint is in contention to make his first start following his summer move from Swindon along with Marlon Pack and Marlon Harewood.

Bradford summer signings Jason Kennedy and Mark Yeates are both poised to make their competitive debuts.

Former Rochdale midfielder Kennedy and ex-Watford winger Yeates are expected to start, but another new recruit, ex-Swindon winger Raffaele De Vita, is struggling with a thigh strain after signing this week.

City's fourth summer signing, former Charlton defender Matt Taylor, is expected to be included in the squad after arriving at the club on Thursday.

Defenders Andrew Davies (calf) and James Meredith (hip) are likely to start, but centre-half Luke Oliver is not ready to return following a long-term Achilles injury.

Veteran striker Andy Gray is also out of contention due to a broken arm.
