Williams blow for Robins

Bristol City will be without Derrick Williams when they host Watford in the FA Cup third round.

The left-sided centre-back will serve a one-match ban after picking up five yellow cards, forcing manager Steve Cotterill to shuffle his pack for the cup tie.

And that could mean a shock return to Robins action for long-serving defender Liam Fontaine who returned to the club on Thursday after a loan spell at Yeovil.

Millwall loanee Karleigh Osborne is available to play against the Hornets, Nottingham Forest's Simon Gillett is injured and cup-tied while Nicky Shorey and Marlon Harewood have left the club.

Watford will be without as many as 10 players.

Striker Fernando Forestieri (knee), defender Davide Faraoni (ankle), Ikechi Anya (groin) and fellow wing-back Daniel Pudil (hamstring) are all ruled out at Ashton Gate.

Long-term absentees Almen Abdi (foot), Essaid Belkalem and Tommie Hoban (all ankle) also continue to remain on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, loanees George Thorne, Josh McEachran and Hector Bellerin have each returned to their parent clubs upon completion of their deals with the Hornets.
