The same rules will apply to Cardiff fans when they come to Ashton Gate in December.

Chief executive Colin Sexstone told www.bcfc.co.uk

"Coach-only travel has proved extremely effective in the past and when it comes to our trip to Cardiff, we will look to be as flexible as can be with pick-ups, especially for those supporters who live on the other side of the bridge."

Commenting, Avon & Somerset Police Chief Superintendent Andy Francis says: "Our priority is to ensure that all those travelling to the game have a safe and enjoyable time. The plans in place are purely precautionary.

"Obviously restricting fans to travelling from Cardiff by coach is not the way in which we want to organise things and both ourselves and police in South Wales will review the behaviour of both sets of fans to see if restrictions for future games might be eased or removed altogether

"This will depend on the behaviour of the fans themselves."
