Carey's mixed emotions

GOALSCORING captain Louis Carey has passed on the players best wishes to Christian Ribero who came off with a serious knee injury last night.

The City man got his team back into the game with a crucial equalising goal and was pleased with his role as a goalscorer but told the official website this morning that the club's thoughts are with young defender Ribero,

"At the time play went on for a few seconds and nobody really knew what happened. It was only when I went over, I saw how much pain he was in. That's when I knew it was bad. It wasn't nice seeing a young lad needing the oxygen mask and all are thoughts are with him."

Ribero will now miss Wales U-21's game with Romania next Wednesday.

"I don't know whether [he caught] his studs in the ground. It looked bad but hopefully not as bad as first thought. "Going forward he's excellent, on the ball he's good, he's quick and strong. It was a great chance for him to work on playing in front of a crowd against other professionals," continued Carey.

Ribero and City are both still awaiting the results of a scan on his knee which took place this morning.
