City boss pleased to restore 'faith'

MANY City supporters may be looking at the game and seeing it as two points lost but Gary Johnson said he is pleased that his team re-created some of last season's form to come back from 2-0 down.

City found themselves trailing to rivals Plymouth and had to battle back in the second half to get anything from the game. A goal from John Akinde on his debut and a long range strike from David Noble were enough to secure a point and restore some of City's confidence after losing to leaders Wolves at the weekend.

Johnson told the official website: "I think in the first half it's probably the worst we've played since my time here, and in the second (half) it was one of the best.

"Most people will be going home disappointed that we've only got a point but we've seen a team come back from adversity again, and it really was adversity this time.

Although home points were the building block for his side's success last season, Johnson refused to be downbeat about the result but admitted: "I'd rather take a point after being 2-0 down, that's for sure, but then at 2-2 I was really disappointed with the three minutes added on."
