CITY boss Gary Johnson was undoubtedly pleased that his side were able to get their first win at Ashton Gate, but it seems that the City boss was most delighted with scoring four goals against what he described as 'tough' opponents.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, Gary Johnson was pleased with the way his side 'set about proving the doubters' wrong after many had immediately written off their chances of keeping pace with Birmingham and Wolves at the top of the Championship.

The London-born boss' team's first win in three put them back into the top six and also earned a first win of the season at Ashton Gate. Of all the positives to comes out of the game, Johnson said he was delighted with the goal scoring form of players such as Michael McIndoe, Ivan Sproule and Nicky Maynard and with Lee Trundle, Dele Adebola and John Akinde added into the mix, the former Yeovil boss said the victory boded well ahead of their summit battle with Wolves,

"It's important to get a couple of goals, otherwise people start talking and asking 'have we got good strikers?'"

"But we have only failed to score in one game this season and that was a decent 0-0 draw at Cardiff.

"You're not always going to score three or four goals, but against a very good Doncaster team we did and I am really pleased. It stops all the talk about us not scoring goals."
