CITY may not be in Championship action for a couple of weeks but today the players practised on their brand new training facility.

The brand new facility based a Failand was finally put to use for the first time this morning as the players took part in a 25-minute each-way practice match at the new site to endorse it's opening.

The session was not only an oppertunity for the club to show off their new playing facilities but also gave several players the chance to enjoy a relatively competetive run-out. Marvin Eliott, Jordan Walker and Cole Skuse all played in the match as they bid to come back from injury and Jamie McAllister did some light training work as he continues to recover from an ankle problem. New signing John Akinde was also involved.

A very pleased Gary Johnson told Bristol City World: "The new pitches look very, very nice and the quality of our practice match proved that today.

"It's a great training ground to call your own and we thank the chairman and Colin Sexstone and all the City Foundation members for making this possible."

The City boss also confirmed that Marvin Elliott should be available to play for the reserves in the near future and had penciled him in to play for the reserves against Bournmouth next Tuesday. Johnson said: "We've organised a practice match and Marvin will definately play in it, after that he could well be available for the reserves."
