'City can thank crowd for late rally'

CITY supporters may be thanking John Akinde and David Noble for their late heroics in securing a 2-2 draw but Gary Johnson believes that the part the crowd played in last night's game should not be underestimated.

Johnson described the first half performance as 'the worst of his reign' and going two goals down was exactly the opposite of what the City manager wanted to do after losing to Wolves at the weekend.

The previous performance by his team against Doncaster gave Johnson hope that his team struggles were over but a point was all the Robins had to show for their efforts despite saying he 'wasn't happy at all' after the game Johnson believes that a point was 'better than nothing' and as well as praising his players, said that the crowd played an excellent part,

"We never gave up and that was important," Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post,

"The boys kept the faith and kept on believing and they made the crowd believe as well towards the end.

"Given the position we were in after 20 minutes, I have to be pleased with a point."
