'City enjoy being written off,' insists Johnson

AFTER guiding his team through another unbeaten weekend of football, Gary Johnson told supporters he is extremely pleased at the way opponents continue to write his team off.

The City boss believes the constant pressure on his team to make a mistake or perform under par have made his team even more aware of their responsibilities to perform and Johnson thinks that has been the 'secret' to their good start.

The Robins flew out of the blocks early last season and currently sit in the top six, unbeaten after five games. Johnson said he feels his team will continue to get better while those around them will be expecting things to go wrong. He told the Bristol Evening Post: "We've been written off again and called one-season wonders and we're hoping not to be. We talked about it in pre-season and decided to prove those people who call us one-season wonders wrong.

"It's something we use as an extra motivational tool and it's definitely an incentive to do well."
