BRISTOL City manager Gary Johnson could be in-line to bring another striker to Ashton Gate.

The manager told the BBC during the week that he 'disliked' the transfer window but newspaper reports suggest that he may be ready to make a significant swoop to strengthen his team at the top end of the pitch.

Goals do not appear to be the problem for his side but the Bristol Evening Post and the Mirror suggest that Johnson is ready to swoop for a striker before the September 1st deadline.

The Daily Mirror suggests that Johnson is in talks with Crystal Palace to sign James Scowcroft and the paper suggests that a move will be completed to fun the Eagles move for Ipswich striker Alan Lee.

Kent Online and The Bristol Evening Post suggest that the Robins are dealing with Ebsfleet United to sign John Akinde. Johnson is believed to have submitted a bid of around £140,000 although the move is subject to the clubs 30,000 owners agreeing through the myfootballclub.co.uk website.

The City manager has so far declined to comment on either subject.
