Derby midfielder Hossam Ghaly could be moving to Ashton Gate after Spurs confirmed that three Championship clubs had made enquiries about the player.

The Egyptian, signed by Martin Jol, is currently out of favour at The County Ground and had been linked with a move to Bristol City as Marvin Elliott was making his recovery from injury.

Althiugh last season's player of the year is now back in action, Johnson could be tempted to make a move to add further options to the Robins midfield.

Only Birmingham have made an official move for the player with Sheffield United and City also rumoured to be interested in the midfielder.

A member of staff at Ashton Gate said: "We're always looking for players to improve our squad but we cannot speak about specific players.

"I think Gary is happy with his team."
