City youngsters down Blues

BRISTOL City's youngsters continued their excellent start to the Premier Academy league with a victory over Chelsea.


Former Chelsea player Nathan Livins scored twice in a 4-1 victory as City pushed themselves back into contention in the league.

Livins netted the first before Marlon Jackson won and scored a penalty to make it 2-0. Livins got in on the act again scoring a second against his former employers before the Premiership giants pulled a goal back to set the nerves rocking.

City braved a storm of Chelsea posession however and Rob Stambolziev netted late on to restore the three goal lead and complete a comprehensive victory.

Under 18's coach John Clayton was obviously delighted with the win and told the official website: "It's a great result and for everything that wrong last week (at Southampton), it went right this week.

"The lads performed brilliantly and it was great to be playing on the training ground. The surface was fantastic; groundsman Craig Richardson and his team have done a great job.

"I'm absolutely delighted with this result."

On the 'star of the show Nathan Livins he said: "We took him fron Chelsea about a month ago and we've been waiting for him to get over an injury. He's a lively forward and certainly enjoyed today's result."
