Elliott celebrates
Bristol City remain in 2nd place thanks to Marvin Elliott's long range strike.

City were worthy winners at Ashton Gate outshooting the visitors by 15 efforts to 9.

"Marvin has been a very good signing for us and he showed his quality in this game as well as his work rate," said Gary Johnson. "But it was a real team effort. We worked hard all over the park and a lot of players other than Marvin deserve to be on the score sheet.

"People keep asking me whether we can stay near the top of the table and all I am saying is that we will take games one at a time and see what happens.

"The lads have a belief and know where they want to go. At the moment they are doing us proud."

Tony Pulis watched in disbelief as Elliott scored from distance.

"When I had Marvin Elliott watched as a possible target I was told he didn't have a left foot. Today he goes and scores with it from 30 yards."
