WHILE Gary Johnson admitted his side were extremely 'below-par' in their defeat to Reading, the Royals manager Steve Coppell was busy revelling in a fantastic 4-1 victory at Ashton Gate.

Reading had been suffering a hangover from their last away win and came into the game having lost to Burnley and with suggestions made that they were not as consistent as Birmingham and Wolves to edge themselves in a three-way race for automatic promotion. Even at this early stage, Steve Coppell is pleased that his team shrugged off any worries about their performances,

"I am a firm believer that if you keep producing good performances, results will come."

The 4-1 victory at Ashton Gate was only a second success away from the Madeski and the Royals manager believed it was only a matter of time before his side earned this kind of result. He continued in his interview by saying,

"We felt we were going to give someone a hiding, now we have to become more consistent because we have let ourselves down on ocassions."

Winning 3-0 at Wolves this season was a great achievement and this display was comparable."
