Dowie believes City will be serious contenders in the Championship.
HAVING seen his side draw 1-1 with Bristol City at Ashton Gate yesterday Ian Dowie said that he was 'pleased' with the way his side place in the face of adversity.

Dowie's team played most of the second half with ten men after Argentine star Emmanuel Ledesma was sent off for a second bookable offence. Dexter Blackstock had given the away side the lead but Brian Wilson set up Dele Adebola who was able to equalise from six yards out.

The second half was a stalemate as Rangers looked to hold on to what they had and City found it impossible to break their opponents down. Despite their hosts lack of cutting edge, Dowie praised City after the game. He told teamtalk.com: "They dominated posession when Emmanuel was sent off but I thought we defended well against a top draw side.

"In that respect I'm more pleased with this than our home victory against Doncaster. Bristol City are a very good side and will be up there challenging again."
