Gary: 'A drop in standards'

It's all about how we respond to our first setback for some time," Gary told Bristol City World. "We had a very bad night in which we fell well below the standards we have set, but let's not forget the 18 games that went before.

"We have had a terrific run and it had to end some time. The players have lost their day off and we will take a close look at the match video tomorrow to see what went wrong.

"But we will soon put this behind us and start to look positively at the Scunthorpe game. The lads are very quiet in the dressing room, but we will lift them again.

"It's great for a club our size to come to grounds like this and we hope to be doing it again next season, although I think City will be promoted by then.

"They have had a tremendous run, but those sequences have to end sometimes and I was delighted when Middlesbrough failed to end it on Saturday.

"It was great for Damian Spencer to score the winner against his old club and for Kay Odejayi to play his part as a substitute. Scott's injury apart we've had a super night."
