"We are still very much in the tie, but I'm disappointed by our performance and a game which I felt was devoid of quality.

"We wanted to win, but it didn't look that way. Both teams were part of a poor match and I apologize for that because we hoped for a game to suit the occasion.

"Some of our players didn't perform and I may have to look at the personnel for the second leg to see who can handle the situation.

"We can't expect our fans to be cheering us when nothing is happening in the game and we didn't give them much to get excited about.

"I'm sorry about that, but it wasn't done on purpose and we can't be as bad in the second leg. It's not the first derby game to fail to live up to its billing and both teams were very cautious."

"I think we'd have taken 0-0 before the game. To go away from home in the first leg of a cup tie against a team from a higher division is always difficult, so we're pleased to go back to our ground all-square.

"We knew we would have to work hard and be right defensively, and I think it was a fantastic physical and mental effort from the players, and I was very proud of them.

"I think the draw was a fair result, we had a few efforts from range and they had a couple of headers - we had spells in the first half, and they had pressure in the second half, and overall it sets the second leg up nicely."
