COMING into last night's game, Crewe boss Steve Holland was under no illusions.

As his team had picked up their first win of the season at the weekend, he said Crewe were looking forward to the challenge but admitted that it would be 'extremely tough'. As it turned out for the Gresty Road manager it was easier than he expected as Crewe rolled over their Championship opponents with an efficient performance and made it through to round three.

Holland admitted 'delight' after the game at the way his side had performed, he told teamtalk.com: "We deserved to go through and the players are all excited about being in the pot with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

"Our centre-backs were immaculate and deserve credit for keeping quality forwards like Nicky and Dele quiet. We created the best three or four chances of the game and gave a performance that included effort, concentration, quality and thought."
