BRISTOL City defender Jamie McCombe has described himself as "feeling fine" after surgery on an injured cheekbone.

The defender suffered a facial injury in the club's 1-1 draw with Derby last weekend and underwent surgery during the week to fix the cheekbone which shattered in three places.

Jamie is expected to be out for six-weeks before returning to action but had a chance to speak to the bcfc website to let supporters know he was feeling fine. He said: "I'm battered and bruised, but I'm feeling fine."

"I had the surgery last Thursday and the surgeon says everything went well. I've got to meeting with him again in a few days for a post-operation check up but all being well I should be back in six weeks."
