Magilton made four changes from the side which drew 2-2 with Norwich for Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United and has a nearly fully-fit squad available.

Tommy Miller returned from a month out with an ankle injury against the Blades and impressed alongside 18-year-old Liam Trotter in midfield to leave Magilton with a headache.

Striker Pablo Counago should return after being left out as Magilton played a solitary striker against Bryan Robson's side, while 37-year-old Fabian Wilnis could return after being rested from the squad altogether.

Striker Danny Haynes is a doubt with an ankle injury while Richard Naylor is also pushing for a return after a long period out with a foot injury.

Midfielder Gavin Williams has yet to feature this season but could be fit to return for the club after the international break. The Wales international has been out of action since rupturing his ankle ligaments in a pre-season friendly.

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson will select from an unchanged squad.

The Robins suffered no fresh injury or suspension problems during the last-gasp home defeat to Charlton in midweek.

However, defensive duo Liam Fontaine and Jamie McAllister will be walking a disciplinary tightrope at Portman Road as they are on four yellow cards for the season and a booking away from a one-match ban.

David Noble followed up his substitute appearance at Wolves with another appearance from the bench against the Addicks following his sickness bug.

The midfielder has experienced no ill-effects and could even be restored to the starting line up.

The Robins have only ever won twice in 22 league visits to Ipswich. The last was a 1-0 triumph in the old Division One in September 1978.
