Iriekpen defends Johnson

Johnson was sent to the stands for scuffling with the centre-half after he had initially tackled him for believing he had delayed a free-kick in the dying moments.

Iriekpen - who himself was booked for his part in the altercation - does not believe that the Robins manager should have been sent off and has urged the FA to be lenient towards him.

He told Bristol City's official website: "I didn't really think it merited a sending-off and I hope that's the end of the matter.

"He's a passionate guy who lives and breathes the game. It's not something you see everyday though - a manager flying onto the pitch to make a half-decent tackle."
