PAUL Jewell admitted yesterday that he was satisfied with his side's point against Bristol City but told the media that it was partly due to 'going ballistic' at his team during half time.

City had many chances in the first half to finish the game off completely but only had a goal from Nicky Maynard to show for their efforts and Jewell said that his side were not good enough in the first period. He told teamtalk.com: "I can't repeat what I said at half-time - but I lost my rag because we were losing battles all over the pitch. "It was powder-puff stuff and I'm still angry now at what I saw in that first half but at least I got a response."

Jewell said his side contnued to show improvement and was a little happier with the way they played in the second half,

"I told the lads if a manager had said the same to me during my playing career, I would have done everything possible in the second half to ram the words down his throat.

"You could see the difference straight away. We showed the fight and spirit that has been sadly lacking for the last eight months or so."
