AHEAD of the weekend's game with Bristol City, Derby County manager Paul Jewell has told the club's supporters that the team will be inspired by their win against Lincoln.

At one stage, Derby looked to be heading out but came back to win 3-1 in extra time and Jewell believes that ahead of his sides game with City at the weekend, the Rams should take inspiration from their League Cup success:"Only time will tell but I think we've turned a bit of a corner. One win isn't going to make a massive amount of difference but it could be a springboard and you can see the relief in the players in the dressing room," he told BBC Radio

Jewell has made 13 summer signings in an attempt to win the sides first game in over 30 matches and he hopes that his team will get the league win they need to help them get promotion,

"We created a lot of opportunities and showed a bit of character (on Tuesday), I hope we can take this performance and move forward."
