Johnson calls for City to 'silence the drummer'!

Johnson is hoping that his side can shut Blackpool's drummer up with a win tomorrow afternoon.
GARY Johnson is a man on a mission tomorrow.

The City boss has been telling his players all pre-season that his club must make a fast start in what will no doubt be another competetive Championship race and this morning the manager re-itterated his hope that his players can immediately put May's heartbreaking playoff defeat behind them.

However, Johnson would not be the man he is without calling for City to make their make in an alternative way - by silencing the Blackpool drummer with their performance by the seaside of Bloomfield Road. Despite his determination to claim an opening day three points the manager knows that his team will be fighting the crowd as well as the home side

"We've got to try and put a hole in that drum behind the goal up there," he said jokingly.

"We've got to try to get our fans going with our performance and try to silence their support. That drum certainly gets them going, but it will make me feel a whole lot better if we win 1-0!"

He thanked supporters for a near sell out of City tickets saying: "Credit to them, it's a long old trip but we can hopefully make it a happy journey home."
