Johnson hoping City learn from 'bad experience'

BRISTOL City boss Gary Johnson insists that his team can recover from defeat at Wolves and put in a good performance tonight against Plymouth.

Speaking ahead of his side's game with Plymouth tonight, the City manager was bullish about the robins chances of success, saying they learnt some 'harsh' lessons at the weekend.

Johnson takes charge of his first game at Ashton Gate since signing a five year extended contract last week and will be hoping to celebrate his new deal with a victory,

"This is our chance to create a bit of forward momentum and seize the initiative," he told the Bristol Evening post, "Just as Wolves did against us."

Gary's side could welcome back Brian Wilson, while Chris Weale will be looking to hold onto his place despite his mistake at the weekend with Adriano Basso now fully fit. Marvin Elliott will be hoping to retain a starting berth after he made his first full appearance of the campaign at Wolves.

Johnson said whatever team he picks, it will be fully focussed on victory,

"They (Wolves) came out very fast, threw everything at us in the opening 20 minutes and pegged us back as we thought they would, that's what we need to do.

"You come to expect that when you go to these big clubs in the Championship and it's something you have to deal with. The team I pick will be told to make that kind of start."
