IT is well known to most City fans that Gary Johnson demands 100% effort from all his players.

The City manager was clearly unhappy with the work ethic of his team after they lost 2-1 to Birmingham City on Tuesday. Johnson said he felt that the quality in their play was not there and described his team as needing to 'work hard' before Saturday's game.

"There were some things I was very pleased with and others I wasn't so pleased about," claimed the manager, "I can promise our supporters we'll be working very hard on those things I wasn't pleased with."

Johnson seemed paticulrily unhappy with the number of chances his side created and although Lee Trundle netted his first goal of the season he told the Bristol Evening Post: "We'll work morning, noon and night to get it right and I've told the lads I'm going to run them into the ground to improve their movement in the 18-yard box. We've talked about the last game and, hopefully, we've learned from it. Now we have to try and put right those things that were wrong in time for the Doncaster game.

"We were not good enough with our final ball or our movement inside the penalty area. That goes for everyone, not just the strikers."
