Johnson not a fan of 'super-manic' window

WITH less than five days to go till the close of the transfer window, Gary Johnson has not ruled out further forrays into the transfer market.

City's major transfer business was conducted in July when they signed Nicky Maynard for a club record £2.25m but the boss has refused to rule out further transfer signings despite admitting he dislikes the current transfer window format.

He told BBC sport: "The transfer window is a hindrance to everybody.

"I cannot for the life of me think of one positive thing about it."

Although he admits he has a larger squad than most Johnson said that he 'may' have to add to his squad if injuries continue to pile up, especially in defensive areas.

Johnson's comments come as part of a transfer window feature on the BBC website in a blog with Paul Fletcher who also speaks to Chris Coleman and Barry Fry. The Robins boss, as usual, is fair open about his views and insists that 'unsettling' is the best term to describe players, managers and chairman in the days before their window.

The boss also admited that as much as he wants to, he will not be switching off his phone between now and the deadline 'just in case', the City boss added jokingly,

"You can't do that in case Wayne Rooney becomes available."
