Johnson talks up Elliott's chances

PREPARING for a visit to Wolves this weekend, Gary Johnson has told the media and supporters that his team could not have 'warmed up' for their 'toughest' task of the season any better than with a rousing victory over Doncaster.

City broke a run of three games without a win in all competitions and also won their first game at home in the league on Saturday, just in time, thinks Gary Johnson as his team travel to the black country on Saturday to face 1st place Wolves.

Of all the players who starred at the weekend, their way paticular enjoyment from the manager with the performance of Marvin Elliott who he felt was 'extremely sensible' in coming back form injury to play 45 minutes against Doncaster.

Although he is highly unlikely to change a winning team unless it is forced upon him because of injury, he admits that Marvin gave him plenty to think about and is most likely to be involved in some shape or form against Wolves.

Johnson told the Western Daily Press: "Marvin gives us great energy.

"It's great to have him back and it hasn't taken him long to have an impact."
