MUCH of the euphoria may have disappeared over the weekend as City slipped to a second league defeat against Wolves but chairman Steve Landsown has said that he is delighted to have secured the future of Gary Johnson after the City boss signed a new contract on Friday.

The deal was announced at a press conference on Friday, just before City travelled to Molyneux to play Championship leaders Wolves,

"I believe for Bristol City to be successful we have to think long term and ensure stability at the top,"
Lansdown to the official website,

"Gary Johnson has proved a top manager and I'm delighted he has committed to the club for the next five years."

According to Johnson it only took a short period of time to agreee a deal as he was impressed with the chairman's vision for the future, something Steve is keen to keep Gary involved with,

"I look forward to working with him for what I am sure will be an exciting time for this football club."
