Mackay delighted with players

WATFORD'S caretaker manager Malky Mackay admitted that he was happy with his players performance against Bristol City last night - even suggesting that it should have been more than one point his side travelled south with.

The side who were sitting 21st in the table before the game showed resilience to fight back from 1-0 down against Bristol City, as Tommy Smith equalised Nicky Maynard's opener on 72 minutes.

Mackay now steps sides from management duties with Brendan Rodgers stepping into the role as of today, though the out-going caretaker feels that the new man is inheriting a great situation. He told the BBC,

"I couldn't have asked for more from the players.

"After a brilliant result against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, they again demonstrated their togetherness at a very difficult venue.

"They worked hard for each other and it's disappointing to be going home with only one point."
