Manager's comments after City's win at Boundary Park

"It's a great win given Oldham's stats at home. They've got a terrific home record like us, but to play like we did today was fantastic.

"We looked strong, we looked quick and we had power and passion in our game. Even John Sheridan would have to admit it was our day.

"Basso made one save early on but after that we created plenty of chances. We certainly demoralised Oldham with the way we were playing.

"As a team we looked very, very solid. I said before we needed to win this game and thankfully the lads felt that as well.

"I'll hold my hands up and say we didn't deserve anything. Other than the first ten to fifteen minutes - where I thought we were quite bright - Bristol dominated and thoroughly deserved the result.

"I stressed to the lads that this was an important game, and they're bitterly disappointed about it in the dressing room. There's no doubt that this was a bad day at the office.

"Today is the second time we deserved to lose this season, with the first being at Chesterfield. We deserved to get something from every other game, but I'll hold my hands up today and say that I know this is a bad day. It's now important that we show character and get back to winning ways.

"There were lots of things wrong in our play today, but I've told the lads to keep their heads up and we'll have a little chat about it on Monday."
