City boss Gary Johnson was prepared to allow his midfielder son to remain with The Rams on loan for a second month with a 24-hour recall clause but Derby boss Nigel Clough was only interested in a season long loan deal.
Johnson made six starts and one substitute appearance for Derby during his month on loan at Pride Park.
