BRITOL CITY frontman Nicky Maynard has told supporters he will not celebrate if he scores against Crewe Alexandra in the Carling Cup.

The 21-year-old confirmed last night he is looking forward to a return to the club he left just three weeks ago but as a mark of respect will not celebrate if he scores against them. Maynard joined the Gresty Road club at the age of twelve and said: "I was talking to some of the lads and said it would be good if we got Crewe and that's what happened."

"I just want to go there and do a job. Hopefully we can get the win we need and I can get a few goals as well. As long as we win that's the main thing."

On the possibility of scoring against his old club he told the official website: "I don't think I would celebrate if I scored. Saying that if I haven't scored for City until that game then it may be different!"
